"VICTOR FEGHALI: Hi. This is Victor for ExpertVillage.com, and we are here at Foothill Carpet to show you how to buy carpet for your home. Carpet is softer. It's warmer on their feet, so a lot of people prefer that over hard surfaces, especially in bedrooms. People these days like to have the warmth of a carpet feel under their feet. But in heavier-traffic areas like in kitchens, dining rooms, it's probably better to go into a hard surface because it's easier to maintain, and it's probably a better choice in those areas. You have carpets by Shaw Industries, by Mohawk manufacturers, and there's Royalty Carpet Mills, Catalina Carpet Mills and Beaulieu of America. Basically, these are the biggest names in the carpet industry now, and each one of them, they produce different grades of carpets from basic introductory levels to the highest qualities, which would be about 80- 90 ounces of carpet per square inch."
