Setting the Center Pole for a Spiral Staircase

" Hi! This is Weldon Moon on behalf of Expertvillage.com. And the next step in building the spiral is to attach the pole to a fork plate. We have attached in the center of this plate. Then drilled in with a hammer drill, anchored these anchors into the floor. Next we have tacked it to that with a level on this pipe and level this up and make sure that it is leveled and then attach it to in this case we attach it to the ceiling joists can make it good and solid at the top, this seems fairly simple but it works very efficiently. Just need to be able to build it in a place where you can do that. On this case spiral is actually just a little bit short, so I actually added just a little bit extra to the top where I can cut that off after we are done it and get it to the right height. "
