"Hi my name is Wes on behalf of Expert Village.com and in this video segment I am going to talk about adding accents to your terrarium to really make it come alive. If you want to know more about terrariums and carnivorous plants you can visit us at equilibriocarnivorousplants.com. Some accents that you can use that are very easy are types of different wood. Now the kind of wood that you want to use is generally especially for tropical terrariums something that is going to be very resistant to water. These are things like cypress or other types of very water resistant woods and again the kind of wood that you are going to use and the size is going to depend on the size of the terrarium and the space that you have available. Here obviously this piece of wood is going to be too big but a piece like this may be perfect. You can also use cork rolls like this if you have enough space inside of your terrarium. Another accent that is really nice to use in tropical terrariums is this kind of tropical moss. It adds a lot of color and it is a perfect ground cover. So I will show you here about placing the accents. You really just want to make them look and seem as natural as possible. Again you want to work with the kind of room that you have. Here we can place the moss in small chunks around the base of these plants. The moss really only requires a small amount of water so it won’t compete a nepenthes inside of the terrarium. Again here you just want to think about your own personal preference and also what looks most natural. You can also use different types of accents like fake mushrooms or other things like that likings that you can actually glue or tack on to the base of your background. It is just another way of making your tank even more natural and adding certain visual affects to your tank. "
