"Hi, this is Wes on behalf of Expert Village.com and in this video segment I am going to show you how to choose the right kind of background for your terrarium. If you want to know more about tropical plants and carnivorous plants you can visit us at equilibriocarnivorousplants.com. So once you have selected the kind of terrarium that you want to use, you want to determine what kind of background to use inside of your terrarium. Now the advantages of using a background or such that you can actually plant plants on the background of your terrarium, you can do this by attaching the stems or roots with wires onto the background. So the different types of background are; we have this natural cork background. The advantage of using this is more a natural look to it but the material that it is made out of will actually degrade over time. Another type of background we have here is a Styrofoam background that is molded and painted to look more natural. This is the kind of background that comes with this particular terrarium and I recommend using this because it isn’t made of natural material and it won’t degrade over time. It is very resistant to water and other source of things. So once you have decided on the kind of background you want to use placing it in can be kind of tricky but you want to make sure that it is secure against the back. With a background like this they clearly won’t fit. You want to make sure that you measure it and cut it down to size before you fit it into your terrarium. Also with a background like this that you have to cut you may want to use some type of adhesive glue to secure it to the background of your terrarium. "
