"Because of the constraints that we normally find growing orchids in the home, we resort to a variety of containers to grow the plants and we have to look at the values and the problems that each type of container might create. One of the most common containers we would use would be the clay container and it has certain value to us. One of the values is in pot periods. The moisture evaporation from the surface of the clay pot will help the roots than they would under any circumstance. Now most of us because today is the day of plastic would tend to grow in a plastic pot. There are some issues that you have to deal with when you do a plastic container and that is one, the way in which they retain the water with the media. There are number of ways that you can solve this. You can solve this by putting holes in it or by adding plastic peanuts to the pot. "
