"WILLIAM HUTCHINSON: Orchids which retained the name Epidendrum are much smaller than when Linnaeus named them back in 1735. But we do have a number of remarkable plants which have a unique growth pattern and that the growth instead of having that pseudo bulb is called reed like and it's a long lushy stem which may sometimes grow several feet high. We see one here just getting ready to flower and in a few weeks, this will have a gorgeous spread of bright orange flowers. We have some that are known to never have stop flowering and they named the orchid that never stop flowering and they were collected out of existence when they we're discovered which was rather sad to say happening to lot of our orchids species. But the Epidendrum has today been divided into a number of species including this and the Encyclias which are much smaller plants."
