"We are doing our shoe molding demonstration. When you are measuring shoe molding, we are going to start with an easy one here; that is a straight shot. It has no outside corner, no inside corner. It is just one piece against the wall. We will show you how to get one of those out of the way and then we will be on our way to completing the job. So you want to measure from one corner; you will find a corner and edge somewhere. So we are going to start this edge right over here, just put a tape right against the opposite wall, measure and you want to measure to where the end of the baseboard here meets the end of the door jamb right here. This is the door jamb and so you measure to the end of that right there and our measurement is 56 and 1/8 inches. Now just so that you know what an eighth is, tape measure, has always little lines on it and each line is a 16th of an inch. So one line past four inches will be 4 and 1/16 and then one line past that will be 2/16 or 1/8 and likewise. The next, the bigger line there is a quarter, this one right here is a half and then this just splits up like that, pretty self-explanatory. So once you have your measurement you are ready to go ahead and cut your first piece."
