"Hello! My name is Tony Ramirez from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, this is do it yourself home security system. Let's get started. Sliding glass door track locks: Pretty much every home especially down here in Florida has a glass sliding door. These are actually one of the easiest ways to break into the house because the locks usually aren't the strongest thing in the world. So what people choose to do down here and anywhere else is a track box. This one here is installed into the door itself. As you can see it is just a medal block that slides up and that will release it so that the door can open. When you don't want intruders to come in or you want that extra protection, simply lock it down and just like that you have some extra protection. So this will keep the door from sliding forward and nobody can get in. Another cheaper way say if you don't want to install and you are renting a home or apartment, is you can put just a simple piece of wood or even maybe a heavy duty PVC pipe. You can line it up there about the same distance of the door and it makes it nearly impossible for the door to slide open. And that right there is a sliding door track lock. "
