"Hello! My name is Tony Ramirez from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, this is do it yourself home security system. Let's get started. Window alarm sensors: Now these particular ones right here were pre-installed into a home security system that I already have built in. You can purchase them on your own from Radio Shack, Home Depot and places like that and run the cables to some type of breakout box and siren that you already have. As I mentioned, this one is already hooked up to my home security system. But you can also buy the cheaper kind like in a Walmart, Home Depot as well that are battery powered. You plug those two and you stick them onto your windows just as they are here and as soon as the contacts are separated, the alarm goes off. Battery power works great. You just have to keep up with the batteries. These right here are hard wired into the system so they don't need any external battery power or anything like that. So pretty much this is how they work. That right there of course, they are on, everything is fine. Someones tries to break in, contact is split and alarm goes off. Put them back down and everything should be fine. "
