"One good thing to have with a table saw is a push stick to keep your hands away from the blade. I’ve got a piece of mahogany here, so I’m going to make a real simple one. Take your fence, set it to about ¾ of an inch. I want that depth, so I’ll measure from this side of the blade. I’m only going to cut about 2 inches back. I loaded the blade to that depth. This is a very crude push stick. It can be able to use to push your material through, keeping your hands away from the blade. You can get a lot fancier than this, but for our purposes, this will be just fine."
