"Practicing EDITH- practice drills in the home, is a good way to know all of your exits. Know where the windows are leading, where you can get out of, other alternative exits that you can go if the fire’s right outside your doorway of your bedroom. Practice on your meeting place for the family to meet in the event of a fire. That way, everybody meets at a neighbor’s mailbox and you have everybody accounted for, so when the firefighters show up and we talk with you, you know everybody’s out of the house and they can concentrate on the fire itself.
