"Hi, this is Shana Bethune on behalf Expert Village. I'm going to talk to you about working with shelving in your home office. Shelving is a great way to keep things organized and out of the way. But it still allows you to see what you have rather than keeping things tucked away in a drawer. If you have them out in the open on a shelf you know exactly where it is and you can see it. Most bedrooms have a closet and when you're using a bedroom as an office chances are you're not going to be hanging clothing in your office. So this space can easily be converted to shelving which is much more useful having shelves above your desk can also be very helpful. You can use it to put stuff like printers and hard drives and anything that you wouldn't necessarily want right on top of your desk or inside your desk. It's still out and you can use it quit easily but it's not taking up space where you're working, when you're working in a small area it's important to take advantage of vertical space not just horizontal space. You have plenty of empty walls so being able to store things against these walls rather than across the floor will make your area much open. Taking advantage of shelving is a great way to keep everything stored and out of the way but still very accessible."
