"Ok this is a continuation of the one board I took out and the ends all bad. It has the nails here and I'm going to cut the board across back here. You don't want to cut the board where there's already a joint, you want to stagger your joints back and forth. So, I'm going to take my cat paw and get my nails out. So, this is where I want to put the joint here. I don't want to take the cat paw and destroy the wood so I want to take up this piece right here. I'll cut right across it but don't cut in either side over here and cut on top of the joist. Ok so your saw will cut only so far across and so deep into your joint here you want to take off so you need your SallZall with a descent little blade and start over on each side to get a the rest of the decking cut. Ok so you take your flat bar and make sure that you don't hurt the other wood. You might want to get another block and put along here. You just raise it up and take it out and then you have a nice even straight across area to put your new decking board in."
