"Ok. Our final step in painting the kitchen today is to paint this base molding. So, we've already, as you can see, moved all of our work here out of the way, and we've cleaned up a little bit. What I'm going to do is I'm just going to use a little extra precaution and put down some thin painter's tape to protect our floor, right along the edge. We want to go about two feet at a time. Go back and just press it down firmly to the surface. Finish this up. Now, painting the baseboard is always the last step in painting the kitchen because all the specks and drips fall on the baseboard from the ceiling paint and the trim paint and the wall paint. So, we don't want to ruin any paint that we've already done, so we save this for last. And this is a nice, durable, scrub-able, pearl finish on all surfaces in this kitchen. It's going to stand up to the wear and tear that will take place in a kitchen, any food preparation. Sometimes food tends to splash on the walls, and you're going to have to scrub the walls quite a bit more than any other room in the house. You're going to bump chairs into the baseboard, and all these things that could occur. So, a pearl finish will provide a good protective coat for our surfaces. We're going to want to let the paint job sit for about thirty days before we do any actual washing of the paint because it takes paint thirty days to fully cure, and to fully dry and become washable. Now, keep in mind, after all these steps, you want to repeat for the second coat. Two coats is recommended for the maximum durability. After you finish with this, we're going to peel up this tape. And then you're going to take your brush and make sure to wash it really good with warm, soapy water. If you can use any type of soapy water-shampoo actually works pretty well, considering the fact that the brush is made out of hairs. After you wash your brush with warm, soapy water really thoroughly, you want to give it just one final rinse with just clear, cold water, and then you want to place the brush back into its original packaging to protect the bristles, so it'll be good and ready for your next paint project. Ok. Let's just peel this tape off. Alright. We're looking really good in here. This concludes our kitchen painting project for today. Thanks for watching. I hope you learned a lot. Happy painting to you."
