A broad definition of floral design is the art of combining plants, flowers, and cuttings into an aesthetically pleasing array. These arrays, however, can take vastly different forms, from million-dollar nature preserves, to hotel lobbies, to a homecoming wrist corsage. Floral design is thousands of years old and spans many times and cultures. It has been employed when forming massive works such as the Hanging Gardens of Babylon (one of the seven wonders of the ancient world), Central Park in New York City, and for decorating graves in many cultures. Smaller floral designs can easily be learned online and created at home.
In this free video series, internationally renowned floral designer Pooja Jain will show you how to make an exotic bridal bouquet and a stunning centerpiece, both with native Indian flowers that would give any occasion in the U.S. an exotic appeal. " Hi, this is Pooja from Valaya FNP, today on behalf of Expert Village. Today, we will be making a bridal bouquet. The flowers that we will be using is hydrangea, which is a light baby pink. Then we have the phalaenopsis which is matching to the bride's outfit. Along with this, we need a non-woven sheet, which we are using matching to the flower. This is pink, and to tie the flowers, we have the rope which is in pink and green which is a combination, and in sync to the bridal outfit, the theme of the wedding decor. The arrangement that we are making right now, the bunch we will be placing the hydrangeas in center. We've taken three to four stems of hydrangea can be taken in this, and along side this and around it, we will be placing the phalaenopsis which will be wrapped around together. As you can see, these are the hydrangeas which are placed in the center. Around it, we are taking the phalaenopsis stems. These stems would be they are around at least a feet and a half in height so that it's easy to have a good grip to it. He will be placing the phalaenopsis one at a time, and then we take it around the whole bunch which will be having two phalaenopsis stems to each corner of the hydrangea in the center. "
