"Hello! My name is Reggie Whitehead. Today I am going to be speaking with you about growing tropical ferns courtesy of the Tropical Fern Exotic Plant Society and on behalf of expertvillage.com. Now most people particularly like maiden ferns or the Adeathams. Adeathams is a word that means unwedded and it actually refers to the way water falls off the fronds, leaflets of a plant. Remember a little while ago we mentioned that I was going to talk to you a little bit about culturing fern mythology. Fern mythology actually refers to the shape of the leaf. Whether it is a stag corn like this that has leaves or this stag corn which has entire leaves or a maiden hair which has these tiny pinholes or even the silver back fern called a silver back fern because of voila and let me show you a trick. The trick those are the spores of this plant but let's talk a little about what ferns are. Ferns are plants that do not have seeds, do not have flowers and do not have berries. They are plants and they are grown primarily by spores. The spores are located on the back of the franz and spores are another way of figuring out what kind of species you have for ferns."
