Remove Hardware When Staining Furniture

"In this next clip I'm going to show you how to prep your area and get it ready for staining. Okay, the first thing you want to do is have your drop cloth and, in our materials or tools we have our drop cloth, we're going to lay down our drop cloth first. All right, another thing to remember is if you're working by yourself, work, realizing if you're working with heavy furniture might be safer, little safety tip, to have more than one person helping you. But I'm going to lay out my cloth in the middle of the room. And I'm just going to - this isn't that heavy - whereas I can't start to move it over. Okay, after you get your top down and where you want to place your hutch, next thing you want to do is take off all of your doors, like so, and all of your hardware. You don't want to be staining stuff for hardware and get it over that. All right, so I'm going to remove, I'm going to also remove the hinges of ours doors too. Continuing, I'm taking off both doors, now realize you have, you have these hinges that have to also be removed, so take them off as well. Once you have your doors off, and all your hinges, you're going to remove all of your shelving, so then you can stain each shelf and the inside of the cabinet individually. Also for easy convenience of staining, you want to remove any of the shelving nails that go in. And make sure again, putting them some place safe so you don't lose them. All right, I took out my dowel rod which is our last piece. We removed our doors, our hardware, also our door handles. Now that everything's removed, we're actually ready to go into our next step, which is sanding come and join me as we sand our hutch."
