"Hi! I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village and today we are going to show you how to build a fire in your backyard barbecue pit. Now we are going to get a sizable amount of newspaper here and we are just going to put it right into the middle of our fire pit. Okay, so that's probably enough newspaper. We've got the business section there, editorials so actually it is going pretty good. So then the next thing we want to do is to build something of a tee pee shape over our newspaper so we are going to get some kindling wood. So this is small pieces of wood which you don't want to put the big pieces on right away. First you are going to take the small pieces and try and just keep stacking them onto the top of the newspaper and you are just going to keep making a tee pee shape over it so that where the fire goes up. Then the most densely concentrated area of wood is right at the center at the top and that is where the flames are going so you will be directing the fire to the area of where you want it to burn. "
