"Hello! My name is Melissa Schenk and on behalf of Expert Village, today we're going to be talking about how to create a warm and inviting entryway for Christmas. In this clip, let's talk about the use of color in your entryway. If we look on the walls here, we've got sort of a yellow golden color. Almost like a off mustard color on the walls. We want to accent that by using different colored decorations of course. Here for Christmas, it's very easy to contrast that with of course, the reds and the green. I like to have entryways that have very light colors, something like a yellow or a tone of yellow so that using decorations, especially during the holiday season too, are very easy and you can contrast. Especially too with the reds and greens. We've got the red candles, the green of the garland. We've got silver here with our vases and all the different Christmas balls coming out and all the ribbons as well. When you're thinking about color, also pick a theme. Using 3 colors is quite lovely. You can tend to go more, but if you pick a couple of colors to work with, you've got a theme, you've got an idea to work with and you're not just adding things in for no reason at all. You have a specific color theme and a reason why you were doing the decorating that you are doing."
