"We have the lamp basically assembled, the base and the shaft, and now we're going to drill a hole, for the lamp cord. So, we'll just drill about a half inch hole, right through the middle. It doesn't have to be centered, as long as it's inside this shaft, because the wire is going to go up the middle, so I'll just go ahead and drill that hole. There we go. Now, that hole goes all the way through this base and through the second base and through the cap, that's in the center of the shaft that we should, when we were putting it together. So, now we've got a nice channel for your wire. Another thing I did, is that I used this round file and filed a groove, right here, through this support piece. This is for your lamp cord to come out, after you wire this up, you're going to need a place for the wire to come out. What you can do, if you want, is file one of these, on all four corners, so that you can turn the lamp any way you want to. In this case, I'm only going to do one but you can do four, if you want. So, now we're ready, for a later stage, of wiring the lamp up."
