"Michael Raines at Expert Village. Now I'm going to explain to you exactly what this extend power house remote control does with the rest of the system. Now we'll start with the remote control. You have on and off buttons, you have a corresponding list of what you want to turn on and off, which controls a module, this is a switch module for the wall. Now, we'll get into the specifics a little later, but basically all it does is, when it gets a signal from the remote the receiver sends a signal to the switch and turns your light on and off or even dims it. Now, the main part of this is your receiver, this receives a signal from the remote, goes into the receiver, thru the electrical in your house wiring to the lamp module or wall switch module and turns it on and off. That's right, the signal first travels thru the air from this remote to the receiver once it gets into the receiver the signal travels thru your house wiring, all over your house, so where ever one of these sits you can have this plugged into your wiring anywhere in the house in about 30 feet away from the remote and it will work, so you can have these modules all over the house controlling lights, appliances, spas, saunas, whatever you want to turn on and off the extend system will do it.
