Preparing a Container for a Rose Bouquet

"Now that we've selected our container, I'm going to show you how to prep the container. First of all, we're going to make sure that the container is nice and clean. We don't want any fingerprints. We don't want anything like that on it, so it's got to be polished perfectly. Second of all, we're going to fill it with water, which already has floral preservatives added to the water. So, we're going to fill this up. Then, we are going to use floral tape. Now this is a clear tape because we don't want to see the lines of the tape on the container. So, this is going to create a grid. You create a grid by taking the tape. First, you've got to make a little cut here and you're going to put one end here, go across the container, cut, and push this down. We're going to do another one on the other side of the container. We're going to, my tape's a little sticky here, we're going to make a grid. So, then we go on the other side and make a criss-cross pattern. That's how you prep your container."
