"Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village. Okay now the queen sheet is much larger then our shelf and so we are first fold in so that it is a complete width of the shelf so when we are folding in a small amount so we make it the size of a complete width of the shelf. Then we have now we can fold it right in half like this and press down that material to make it nice and flat. Now this is going to be the flats side of the sheet so you may at this point want to flip the sheet over. The puffer side would be on the inside and you can just tuck in anything that doesn't look even. You want that to be nice and straight and even from here to here so when we fold it, it would be even on the shelf. Now you are going to just eye this to see how much you have to fold in. Since we are going to be rolling the sheet there would be extra thickness from the rolling so we are going to start with a small fold in. And you would fold in one and then you would fold in the other end. Then you would fold again until you get 2 halves and then you fold that sheet together. That is a nice compact and it would fit right on our template and that means it would fit nicely on our shelf."

on 8/2/2008 Karen, you're awesome! I've always dreaded folding sheets (especially fitted ones!) and hadn't even considered that there's a specific and easy way to do it. The template idea is brilliant and helps with my odd size, small linen closet (up until now, I've done the good old, fold in half and half and... until it fit - in the end taking up odd sizes and shapes).
Your instructions are simple, clear and perfectly detailed. I love the care you take to make sure your instructions are as clear as possible. Thank you for a brilliant how-to that will help me on my way to being the organized, good housekeeper I'm striving to be.
