"So, what do you do if you live in a studio, and you have an office in your studio? It's still a home office because your apartment, your studio is your home, but it's not a separate room. It is important to create a separate space for that area. And something that you could maybe even sort of shut away, if at all possible, so that when you're sleeping or just sitting and reading or watching TV, or having friends over, the work doesn't take over the space and it's not something that is constantly there reminding you of the things you need to do, because if it's a studio, it's also your bedroom and you want it to be peaceful. So, one thing to do, is to get one of those stand-up cabinets that can be closed away with the doors. But you open it up, and there's your desk, right inside there. Now, of course in that case, it's against the wall, and your back is to the door. You would then put a mirror in the back of that cabinet, so that you could see behind you when you're working at it. But that's a great way to do it because it's hopefully a pretty piece of furniture that you can just shut away. If you don't have one of those, and you do have a desk in your room, first of all, I would try to place it in the power position. I would place it in a corner as far from the door as possible, but facing into the room. And then, there are some things you could do to make it a little bit more separate. Perhaps you could put a plant somewhere near your desk, on the other side of it, to kind of create a separate space for that. Maybe you could hang some curtains, just sort of separate the space and make it a separate office area--you could hang some curtains from the ceiling. You could also get a folding screen that you could keep there when you're not working and when you're working, you would just take it away, so that you would have a nice, clean, open space to work at. Another way to change the space is to actually change the lighting. So you could have a particular lamp or a lighting scheme that you use when you're working and shut those lights off when you're done so that you know energetically that you are done working. And turn on some other lights that you use for when you're just at home relaxing. So, do take care to look at separating your desk and your work space from the rest of your room, even when it's all in the same room together."
