"Hi! I’m Katrina Cameron, owner of Operation Organization, a Los Angeles based professional organizing company and I am here on behalf of Expert Village to share with you some tips about living in an organized home and basic steps for order maintenance within your house. It’s really important because you want your home to be a great example of how you like to lead your life and have a harmonious place to come home to after a long days work. So I’m going to be showing you throughout this home what you can do to install some organization in your own house. Having an organized home starts at the front door with a few simple habits and also some systems that are set into place. So as you can see, I’ve just come home from a long day at work and it’s easy because once I come in through the front door, I have a place to put my things that are in my hand. That they don’t go on a coffee table or on a bar or on your kitchen counter just to clutter it up for you to handle later. I have these great hooks that are good for keys. I’m going to deal with this mail but I’m not going to deal with it right this instant so I’m going to put it up here in my mail sorter. Then you want to empty out any type of change that’s in your pockets and I have this little handy dish that we’ve put here for those purposes and my purse goes right up here. Having something like this is perfect because it’s sturdy enough because I’ve put it in with drywall screws into the wall here so that it can hold heavy items such as a bulky purse, some extra jogging and exercise bags. If you have any pets, you can keep dog leashes and little bags here too. I want to talk to you about why it’s so important to have a specific place to keep all of your personal important items when you first walk into the house. The reason is, is because you always know that they’re going to be right there for you. So if you’re running late and you need to get out of the house, people are calling you. You don’t get discombobulated because you know that from the time you walk in the door your keys, your purse, your cell phone and your mail is all going to be right here in its own home, so that it’s something you never have to worry about again. I know that my house keys are here, I know that my purse it here, I know my cell phone is here, I have it on a little clip on the purse and so that way if it rings I know to come over here and just answer it. So there you have it, some simple habits that can really help change your life. "
