How to Fix a Hanging Cabinet Door

"Today I’m going to show you how to fix a cabinet door that is just kind of out of whack, that hangs down lower than everybody sees it or what have you. And after you’ve got all your paint removed, you want to take out the screws and you just - what you want to do is take one out of the bottom, like I’ve done here, and take one out of the top. And this is just hanging down. Now if it’s hanging down on this side, you’re going to adjust the opposite side corner - that’s how it usually works. if this is too high, then you want to pull this inward.

And then, you want to make the bottom hinge loose first. Not completely out, just loose so that you can remove the door. And then, this is what you do- you take your screwdriver, your Philips head, whichever you need - and just unscrew this screw. And you want to take this one completely out, and remember, you don’t have to take the cabinet down, you just want to adjust it.

What you do, is wherever its uneven, you take something flat - just a little piece of metal maybe or something; this works well because it has a lip on it. And you push up on the cabinet until it’s lined up on the bottom. Then you want to come back here, see how much the hinge moves over. Once you have the screws out of the top, and one at the bottom to hold it up, you push up at the bottom of the cabinet. You might have to pull out a little bit so it moves over and is lined up, but you really have to push on it. And take a nail or something, and start a new screw hole because it will be right beside the old one and you want to - all the way over to the edge, get it in there - and then just push it outward from the cabinet, so that you can start a new screw hole. Take your screw, make sure that you’re going into the new hole, not the old one. Make sure it’s nice and tight. And that’s how you would fix the problem on the bottom."
