"Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip we'll be talking about advancing the trimmer lines. As you use your trimmer the trimming lines will get shorter and shorter maybe if you hit a fence it will break off a little piece. If it gets too short it will go inside the spool, so before it gets to that point we are going to need to feed some more lines out. The way to advance more line is to while the trimmer is running, tap it once on the ground and that is going to feed the line out. As you're trimming and you tap it on the ground the line is going to advance out and if it gets too much line out as it spins it's going to cut itself off on this cutter, and that is going to size that line to the correct length. Now as you are using the trimmer and you tap it on the ground you're going to hear the line come out and cut off. It has a very distinct sound as to when that line hits that metal cutter, if I flip it over I can see now that my line has been cut off to the exact length that I need it at. "
