Summary: Storage and maintenance tips for taking care of an electric trimmer, inspecting the chord on the trimmer, checking to see it's in working condition and making sure the guards are in place in this free landscaping video.
"Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip we'll be talking about maintenance and storage. First off you want to inspect the trimmer chord very frequently. If it is damaged you want to make sure you have it repaired before you use it. Also you want to inspect the extension chord in the same way the chord is the lifeline of your tool and you want to keep that in as best condition as you can. You want to make sure that you keep the handles dry, clean and free from any oil or grease. If there is some build up you can always clean that off. Also it's very important that you keep all of the guards in place and before you use your tool you always want to check it over from top to bottom to make sure that it looks like it's in good working condition. That there is no cracks or broken pieces. If there is you want to make sure and get those fixed before you use it. When you are finished using your trimmer you want to store it and all extension chords indoors in a dry location, you want to store the trimmer above the reach of children or in a locked area out of reach of children.
