Summary: You want to have 50 feet of hose for your air compressor. That hose will need to be wheeled up. Learn about air compressor hose reels for your woodshop in this free home video.
"Hi, this is Jon, and in this video clip I'll be talking about the air compressor hose reel. Most shops should have a good air compressor system, and with every system you need a hose. Typically it's good to have at least 50 feet of hose, that way you can get anywhere you need to, and you can even go outside and fill up your car tire. Now a good accessory for your hose is to wheel it up on a hose reel. The way this system works is we have a short section of hose that goes to the inlet port on the reel, and that's going to allow us to wind up the hose without pinching the line. Here we have another hose reel on the opposite side of the shop. Now because you can just crank the reel to reel the hose in or let the hose out, it really speeds up things, it keeps it nice and organized, and there's no more need to wrapping it up on your arm and getting it all tangled up. Now depending on your wood shop and your setup, if it's large enough, it's always good to run your hose into a central line that might be mounted to a wall, and then run that into your air compressor so that everything is in one location. You can just pull that hose reel, do what you need to do, and reel it back up. "
