"Hi, this is Jon, and in this clip we'll be talking about the dust collection and vacuum systems. Now even though it's a little bit dark outside, you can still get a good indication of how large our dust collection system is. Now the larger your dust collection system is, typically the cleaner your shop is going to be. Most machines will have some type of a dust collection port built into them so you can just take pipe and run it right into the machine and that's going to pull up any dust, wood chips, or other debris that gets put through the machine. On some machines, like this miter saw, it has a smaller port where you could just hook up a typical shop VAC and suck off much of the dust that comes off of when you're cutting. Now because we have so many machines hooked up to the same dust collection system, we've installed some traps that will open and close our ports to the machine, that way we can have more suction in one area to pick up just a little bit more debris. Additionally we have a few areas where we've ran our dust collection pipes all the way to the floor, which will allow us to sweep our sawdust close to our port and it's going to suck that up, it sure beats using a broom and a dustpan!"
