"Hi! My name is Joshua Lindsey with CFM Building Science Solutions. On behalf of Expert Village, we are doing a frame walk and insulation inspection on this home. What we are talking about here is we are talking about the envelope of your house. Think of your house as a box with a roof on it. Okay if you are insulating down to the drywall, that becomes your envelope. The four walls on the outside is your envelope. Okay when we get into stuff like this, this is a tricky envelope because our envelope has to come up, it is going to drop down, it is going to come across and it has to go back up on the other side. It is tricky. It can be done; not an impossibility but it is something that we have to think about both in the design stage, also in the framing stage and then the insulator is going to have to come in here and know how he is suppose to take care of the problem so that we have an effective that is going to keep our climate different from the inside to the outside again.
