"Hello! My name is Judy Williams on behalf of Expert Village and today we’re talking about different ways to decorate your living room on a budget. Lighting in a room is very important. This old floor stand lamp, you can see, does not have a shade. Again, very expensive from a local hardware store, so I went to Tuesday Morning and bought this beautiful shade which is rounded and fits this space very well except the wings on the chair. I keep a 3-way bulb in this lamp to accommodate the lighting for reading here. This lamp was just a brass base in very good condition. So I’m placing it again on a different shaped oriental stand. It fits the base of this lamp. Then I went to Wal-Mart and found a lampshade, very inexpensive to go on it. If you find something you like, you can change the height of your hearth. There’s a number of things you can do to get the correct height. This is again, a 3-way switch which is good on this old lamp. So you can see again we’re picking up the curves of the room. It picks up the curve of this chip and dale style sofa and the softness of the curve of the arm."
