"My name is Judy Williams representing expertvillage.com, and today we are talking about different ways to decorate your dining room. What I want to demonstrate is some basic wall design. You will notice that this is a server. I like to use Oriental accents; my home is mostly 18th century. This server is very useful: it rolls and just fits nicely. I could use it right by my dining room table, or like I normally do against the wall. What I have done is placed a mirror for reflection that picks up the shape and repeats the shape of this server, and it is just slightly smaller in width then the server. Again I picked up the gold tones that flow up the wall with a frame. Then I used as my background, which is like a frame, this large plate holder, and I placed in it a pewter platter or a bowl—it could be called a shallow bowl—that picks up the silver tones that I've used elsewhere in my dining room. So you will notice this top mounting as I have repeated my shapes, I have the curves, I have the curves, the circular center with curves and then it is mounted horizontally, which is in keeping with the plate holder, and then it adds a pink and draws the eye up and helps to heighten the room and add space to the room."
