"Hi! This is John on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, I will show you Part 4 for replacing an old outlet. When buying a new outlet, you want to make sure you buy one of the same amperage. If you are not sure which one to buy, you can always bring in the old outlets and ask someone at the store to find you the exact same kind. On the back side of your outlet, there will be the amperage labeled towards the bottom, and it might also be labeled as to how thick of a wire you can use with this particular outlet. The next step is to go ahead and remove the wire nuts and strip back the wire just a short distance. If you are unsure how far to strip the wire back, you can always look at the back of your outlet, and typically there is a wire strip gage that will be able to help you judge the correct length."
