"In this video clip, I will show you step 1 for installing a ball valve. I am going to be installing a ball valve on this pipe. This pipe is a hot water pipe, and I know that because when I trace it back, it will go into the water heater. As the water comes this way, it is going to hit my ball valve, which I am going to install, and then it is going to continue to go to either the kitchen or another bathroom; and I know this by following the pipes to where they are going. Later on I would also want to install a second ball valve on my cold water pipe, so that if there are any problems in the kitchen or in this one particular bathroom, I could quickly shut off both those valves without having to shut off the water to the entire house. A few of the tools and material that we will be using is a torch, some solder paste, solder, a pipe cutter, a ball valve and either a piece of sand paper or emery cloth."
