"In this video clip I’ll be talking about battery tool use and care. Before inserting the battery pack in a battery powered tool, you want to make sure that it is in the off position before you insert that battery pack. Anytime you put a battery pack onto a power tool when it’s in the on position it just invites lots of accidents. You want to make sure that you only recharge your battery packs with the charger specified by the manufacturer; if you use any other type of battery pack, there’s a good chance that it could start on fire. With your battery pack, you want to make sure to keep it away from any type of metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or any other type of small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another: this is going to short out the battery pack, could potentially cause a fire. If you’re rough with your battery and your tools, liquids maybe ejected from the battery. You want to make sure to avoid all these at all costs; and first and foremost, you just want to make sure to be careful with your tools and don’t get in situations like this."
