Tips for Painting a Ceiling

"Hi this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip we'll be painting our ceiling. Before painting our ceiling we need to remove any object on the ceiling this includes smoked detectors, any types of hooks that might be in the ceiling. In addition we're going to be removing the light fixture because we are putting up a ceiling fan, we're going ahead and remove this so we can paint our ceiling underneath it. Now that I have everything off of my ceiling I'm ready to begin painting. I started by painting a perimeter around my ceiling using my ceiling paint, this is going to make it a lot easier when I switch to the roller. The roller that I'm using has a 1/2 nap. This is going to really help when I'm getting into the groves of the ceiling since it is a textured ceiling. In addition I have an extension bar on my roller which will really help in reaching that high ceiling. "
