on 11/18/2009 I don't see this a being particularly helpful. Jon left out the part where he says, "First, go spend $5000 on this killer press that will punch through anything. If I had that machine, I wouldn't need to find a video about punching holes in metal.

"Hi! This is Jon on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will be taking you through the procedures for punching a hole through a piece of metal. The first thing you need to do is mark your work piece in the locations that you want the hole to be punched through. The next thing you need to do is go to the metal shear and position your piece in the location that you want your hole to be punched at. Once you have your piece positioned where you would like the hole to be at, you can go ahead and turn the machine on and step on the foot pedal. You want to be real careful though not to get your fingers in the way of the punch. Now you will notice that the punch did get caught on the burr of the metal so what I did is turn the machine off and once the machine was off, then I can wiggle the piece of metal until it comes out.
