Video Transcript

"Hi! This is Jon on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will talk about the parts of a squaring shear. On the squaring shear, we have a bed which is where our stock will rest when being cut. Down below there is a foot pedal and this will serve as a lever arm to amplify and transfer the power from the operator to the cutting blades. The hold down clamp is located near the front here and that will help hold our stock so that when we make our cut it is not going to move on us. There are side gages here on both sides and that will help ensure that we get a straight cut and lastly we have our out feed bend which is located underneath the shear and this will catch all of the material that we cut off our work piece.
