Video Transcript

"I will be taking you through the procedures for cutting a piece of sheet metal with a hand held metal shear. The first step is to measure and mark out the piece that you want to cut. The next step is to clamp your piece and vice. The next thing that you need to do is plug in your metal shear and place it at your line. Now if this particular model it has a variable speed trigger, which means if I depress the trigger the entire way, it will go really fast or if I just push it in a little bit, it will start out slow. What I like to do start out slow and then slowly work my way up. The last thing you may need to do is file off the edges. Some times it could cause a small burr by using the metal shear and a file will help clean that up and make that smooth."
