Video Transcript

"Hi! This is Jon on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will be talking about points of danger with regards to metal shears. The first area that I will talk about is the shear point. This is where 2 edges of a metal object meet together so this would be our blade coming in contact with our bed here. This is one of the most dangerous points. It will cut off a finger if you get it in there. On the hand held shear, our shear points is right here where our reciprocating blade come together. On this squaring shear, our shear point is located right here and that is where that blade will come down and contact the bed and cut the metal. Again, you will lose a finger if you get a finger in there. Now on this particular shear we also have a metal press which is located here and a hole punch which is located here. Those two points will also be moving as you are cutting your metal so you will want to make sure you don't get anything caught in there. "
