Our jigsaw allows us to make straight up and down cuts or orbital cuts meaning that the saw will come out a little bit when it cuts. Right now it is set to make a straight cut and now I've set it to make an orbital cut. For cutting softer materials you want to use that orbital cutting action, the one that moves around a little bit. This is good for soft woods, plastics and other materials like that where you need"
