"Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip I'll be talking about maintenance for your laser line level stud finder tool. Now, whether you have just the plain stud finder, level or laser level tool, the maintenance procedures are similar for our laser line level stud finder tool. The big key is that if it does have a battery you want to make sure that you do check that and replace that frequently. If your battery becomes low it will give you inaccurate readings. You also want to take a rag and wipe off where the laser shots out, because if any type of debris or buildup gets gummed up on that, that laser may not give you a perfectly straight line. It may be a bit fuzzy, it won't give you that crisp line that you're looking for. Now, since the head on our tool does swivel, over time you might get buildup underneath that which causes it hard to turn, what you'll want to do is put just a small bit of lubricating oil along this head and that's going to help keep it rotating smoothly. Lastly on the back of our stud finder tools we have these pads that ride along the wall, over time there may get some buildup that gets in these pads, but what you really want to look for is any type of metal debris or sharp objects that have accumulated in the pads. The reason why you want to make sure and get those off is so that when you run it along the wall it's not going to put scratches on the wall."
