Summary: Learn how to clean and properly store a laser line level and stud finder tool in this free educational video series.
"Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip I'll be showing you how to clean your laser line level stud finder tool. The first thing you need to do when cleaning your tool is take a damp rag, not wet and wipe down the outside surfaces. This is going to make sure that there's no build up, it's going to make sure you can still read that LCD screen. In addition it's just going to prolong the life of it. On the side of our tool we have our on/off button, now over time this will get gummed up with dirt and debris if you're working you get stuff on your hands, then you turn it on, it's going to get gummed up. Now we want to make sure that when you push the on/off button it doesn't stay stuck in. So a good thing to do is take a q-tip with a mild detergent and wipe around that on/off button where that will move in and out. Now this is going to clean it and it's going to make sure that it never gets stuck and this will prolong the life of the tool and it's not going to eat your batteries up. Now, if you use the push pins on this tool, which are located here at the bottom, you're going to want to make sure to clean those as well you want to make sure to keep those sharp. Also on this tool since the head does swivel that has the laser on it, we're going to make sure to clean around where this turns, we don't want this to get gummed up potentially giving us an inaccurate reading. A q-tip will work really well to get inside of those crevasses."
