Summary: Learn how to maintain and care for a laser line level and stud finder tool in this free educational video series.
"Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip I'll be talking about caring for your laser line level stud finder tool. As you use your tool it will get dirty, there will get dust and debris on it. You want to just wipe that down with a damped cloth. In addition you want to make sure that your LCD screen stays clean, this is what's going to give you that visual representation of what's behind the wall. You'll really need to see this so you want to make sure that it's cleaned real well. In addition you want to be real careful when handling it because we do have some glass levels as well as a laser. If you drop it, it could break real easily or it could throw it a little bit off so it's not perfectly straight. Here we have another laser line level tool. Now, with this one it does have a tripod on it and you want to make sure that it is in good working condition. You want to be real careful because these legs can bend pretty easily on that tripod. In addition we do have our glass levels with a piece of glass covering them and that could break as well. You also want to make sure that the battery compartment is kept clean and dry. If you're working in a wet environment it could cause it to short circuit. In addition if you're working in a environment where there could be metal shavings, this could also get in there and cause it to short circuit. So you want to make sure to periodically clean this out also."
