"In this video clip, I will show you how to make a half-round cut. For this cut I’m going to use a half round bit or a half inch round bit. You can take a look at the blade portion here, and you will notice that it is rounded. This will give me a nice curve on the end of my piece of stock. If you take a look at it, you’ll notice that I started right here and that gave me a perfect round edge. This is really good if you are using it on something that might get bumped where that edge could chip off if the edge was sharp."

on 8/2/2008 Hello. Glad to see someone showing interest in woodworking. If you where showing someone how to use the router like this, make a comment that about holding the router where the chips fly out sidewise. Basically I think you are holding the router the wrong way. Chips will fly into your face. If you hold it where the chips fly out from the side. Now the reason I know this is I hold the router the same way you do. I like the visibility and control. But I teach high school students and make sure they know the right way and I use safety glasses and a face shield. Thanks...
