Video Transcript

"In this video clip, I’ll show you the procedure for removing and installing a router bit into a router. The first thing that we need to do is install the collet onto our motor. Make sure that you don’t tighten this up all the way, but that it still remains a bit loose. Next, we’re going to take our router bits and we’re going to install the shank into collet, and we’re going to push it in as far as it will go and then pull it back out about 1/8 or 1/16 of an inch. Then go ahead and tighten the collet down the rest of the way with your fingers. The next thing that I’m going to do is take 2 wrenches and put them on the nuts and tighten it up. To remove the router bit, we’re going to follow the same procedures in the reverse order, so we’re going to put our wrenches on it and loosen up those nuts. Then we’ll be able to unscrew our collet from the motor and pull the router bit out."
