" Hi! This is Jon on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip I’ll be talking about mounting the planer. If you take a look at the base of our planer, there are several holes that will allow us to mount the base; there’s a couple different reasons we need to do this. First off, it’ll keep the planer from vibrating around when we’re running a board through, and secondly, when it is mounted and when it is sturdy and solid as we run our board through, it’ll give us a much better cut. There’s a couple of different ways that we can mount it: the easiest way is to find a solid wood surface to mount it to. Take a couple of deck screws, and maybe some washers if necessary; go ahead and put those in there and screw those down, and this is really going to secure our planer. The other way that we could do it is to go ahead and drill these holes all the way through into the wood, and go ahead and run some bolts through there and put some washers and a nut on the other end."
