Summary: Learn how to clean a portable thickness planer in this free DIY woodworking video.
" Hi! This is Jon on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip I’ll be talking about cleaning the planer. As you use your planer, there will get particles of dust, wood chips, dirt, debris—all this will start to accumulate on your planer. The easiest way to clean those off is just to take some compressed air and blow out any crevasses, and just blow off your whole planer. After about 10 hours of operation, the chains and gears could have some wood chips, dust and old grease on them, and that’s going to have to be removed and regreased and just make sure all that’s working properly. Typically you’ll just use a common automotive barring grease to lubricate all the chains and gears."
