Summary: Learn wall insulation tips before insulating your newly added garage wall in this free DIY garage remodel video.
"Hi! This is John on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, I will be talking about insulation tips. Now that our wall is fully framed in, we can go ahead and insulate. When buying insulation, there is a couple of things that you want to look for. First off is the R-value. This insulation has an R-value of 13. When you buy insulation, you want to have the highest R-value possible. When insulation has a higher R-value, it has a better insulation quality so it will insulate your walls a lot better. So when you buy insulation, you want to buy the highest R-value you can possibly find. The next thing that you want to look for is the thickness. This insulation is 3 ½ inches thick. Since we are framing our wall with 2 x 4’s, the wall will actually be 3 ½ inches thick so you want to make sure you don’t buy too thick insulation for a different size wall. Lastly you will need to know how much the roll of insulation will cover so that you can buy enough to cover your entire wall. "
